Last week I attended a fabulous event hosted by the wonderful ladies at
If you
haven’t been to the Passionate Home you are missing out. It is a beautiful
boutique that features beautiful vintage and vintage inspired pieces, as well
as gorgeous pieces for you and your home. They also offer some amazing classes as well ex. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint classes, upholstery, jewelry making ... you can find out more HERE
Upon arrival to the event I was
greeted by TPH owner Carrie and a tasty glass of wine. We were invited to take
a look around the store while noshing on the most delicious treats (the watermelon
salad was to die for).
YUMMY- that is all |
The event was to celebrate the new Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Colours and the offering of the level 2 Annie Sloan Chalk Paint workshops at the Passionate Home. I have to admit I am a newbie to using chalk paint. The first and only time I have used Annie Sloan so far was on the kitchen nook chairs that I posted about HERE. I was still on the fence about chalk paint when I arrived to the event but quickly learned that there are many techniques and finishes that you are able to achieve with chalk paint and I left there exciting to get on to my next chalk paint experience. Not to mention the colour options are BEAUTIFUL.
PRETTY PRETTY |
Once everyone
arrived we were given a demonstration on the different chalk paint finishes and
the usage of the clear and dark waxes.

ELINOR and CARRIE from The Passionate Home |
I have to say I was in awe with the other attendees, They were ladies who's beautiful work I have admired at many markets and on their own personal websites and blogs
The attendees included
Kristy of ‘4 the Love of Wood’,
Jen from ‘Jentiques’ (I love her clever play on words),
Megan Neufield of ‘White Giraffe Events’ and the personality behind the
monthly column
‘How'd She DIY That’ (Stimuli Online Magazine).
Super DIY’er Deb and of course Carrie and Elinor of The Passionate home
along with Sydney and The super sweet Kristine from Urban Life Media to name a few!
I also have to send a big big thank you to Kristine from Urban Life Media for letting me use her images from the event and to everyone at The Passionate Home for hosting such a lovely event!!
oh I almost forgot we also received SWAG bags that included a paint brush, create can, the new Annie Sloan Tester pots that are available at The Passionate home as well as a Loyalty card the offers you a FREE can of Annie Sloan Paint after the purchase of your 10th can. Pretty sweet!! Looking forward to my next chalk paint project.
